Pig Pen turned....love shack

You're dying to know, aren't you? How exactly does the former pig pen become a love shack...and who is it for?

Notice Willy? This love shack is not for him. And he is sad.
The love shack was for a certain goat from Clucky Dickens Farm who thinks she's a movie star.

Just about as gorgeous as Audrey Hepburn. But I might be biased.
My darling Miss Luna had reached a lovely size  (over 80 lbs - what girl tries to put on weight in order to have a date??) and was soon to be quite, um..."warm" (in heat) and so we decided the best Christmas present we could give her would be date with a handsome goat man named Nico.

Handsome devil, ain't he?
We borrowed Nico from our good friends, transported him in a trailer Limo of Love, and introduced him to the Lovely Miss Luna.

Seriously, we could not have timed it better. I mean, the stars were in alignment, the mood music was right, the candles lit the barn in the most lovely way...they were ready to go.

I mean really ready to go.

So ready, in fact, that by the time my husband had unhooked and put away the trailer Limo of Love, parked my trailblazer and walked in the house to have lunch...the deed had been done.

Several times.

I don't think Nico even had time to ask Luna's name. I know he didn't get her phone number.

Alas, we are hoping now that the date was successful and the Lovely Miss Luna is with kid(s) and we will look forward to smooth deliveries the end of May.

Ah, love on the farm. Sweet can't even begin to describe it. ;)

    1. They do have a scent to them, don't they? It wasn't nearly what I thought it would be from how people talk, but then I was also told that is it late in the season so the scent wasn't as strong.

Luna thought Nico was pretty much the coolest thing in the world. She still looks lovingly over at the pig pen...I mean, love shack, and wonders if maybe he will call...

  3. Yay for a very successful love match in the pig pen! When Miss Luna is in labor end of May, I wonder if she'll think back fondly to her date in January. Or if she'll not be remembering Nico as the coolest thing in the world? Hee-hee.

  5. Nico once in a while glances at the drive way to see if that Limo of Love is going to reappear since all the girls here have turned into ice princesses. Now what he should be bragging about is getting to spend a night in the big red barn before coming back to his humble little digs.

  7. Our ram lamb, Mojo, walked out to the flock of ewes, swaggering like he was the guy in the bar with the shirt undone. After the ewes beat the crap out of him, he wasn't quite as full of himself. But he did manage to arrange a few love matches, as we have ewes due any moment.

  9. Oh your post cracked me up and brought back memories and smiles. When our Lab "Bear" had a 'date' they met on our back deck and ended up breaking our dining room window!
Wow. Well I can't wait to see baby pics. I enjoyed finding your blog. I love the farm life. I'll hang around and visit awhile.
    Have a great week,
    Sherry
